BioTech Manufacturing is very different from Aerospace (primarily driven by an FDA vs. an FAA/Military culture/Quality System) but having a background in Chemistry I quickly adjusted to the more chemically orientation focus of the FDA.

UTC purchased Goodrich 7/26/2012 to become part of UTC Aerospace Systems. As an EH&S Professional I assisted management in focusing on reduction of environmental foot print and preventing employees from getting hurt. UTC is very data driven (hence the job title) so collecting metrics is very important - while EH&S compliance is a must! My creative solutions for achieving a small foot print and super-low injury metrics were encouraged and shared across the company. Hosting and performing frequent audits was a key part of the job, ensuring performance to the goals. Performance required a broad knowledge of air emissions, wastewater options, hazardous materials exposures, PPE, hazardous waste disposal, ergonomics and the full spectrum of OSHA/WISHA and EPA/WADOE regulations. Using Excel, Word and PowerPoint were essential for communicating status and resuts.
