About Desmond Sutton

Desmond Sutton, MD, is a double board certified obstetrician-gynecologist and maternal fetal medicine specialist and is the Director of Labor and Delivery as well as Director of Obstetric Quality and Patient Safety in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai West.Dr. Sutton earned his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he received the Jean L. Cook, MD, Memorial Award for Medical Excellence. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Women & Infants Hospital of Brown University and was the recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award for three consecutive years, as well as the Excellence in Resident Research Award. Dr Sutton completed his fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center where he was awarded the Golden Needle Award for procedural excellence for fetal procedures.
