Working mainly on performance and scalability, but also on feature development. I started out where the majority of my work was coming up with ideas on how to improve the website and implementing the ideas. I then moved to a backend role where I have spent the majority of my time. During this time I've done a lot of different projects, working with loads of talented engineers, getting the chance to mentor recruits, lead a team, and architect entire systems. Some of the highlights of projects I've worked on include:- Building frameworks for other applications and microservices to be built upon. - Migrating a lot of code out of our monolithic application into Grpc APIs.- I built an aggregation platform that provided APIs to real-time data to be queried, mainly used for statistical messaging on activity data for the website. Though also to provide accurate metrics on the state of certain data. - I also built an application structured logging framework that provides extremely fast low latency log throughput and efficient querying on the data.

At purple cubed, I worked in a small team to create a new employee appraisal system. I was involved in architectural decisions, technology decisions and was one of the most senior developers on the project. The project was built using an angularjs frontend with an ASP.net backend. The project was completely greenfield and involved things such as setting up ci/cd pipelines, e2e testing environments and database deployment processes
