Hired a company to do the work, and oversaw the project.Upgraded the shelter software to a more user friendly program, Shelter Manager, that staff and officers could use on city issued phones and tabletsFeatured on a segment with NBC5 for Clear The SheltersPartnered with New Life Individual Family Services, brought them in once a week to evaluate pets and certify them as support or service animals. During my first budget requests, I was approved for and received an operating increase of $19,000 as well as a new Animal Control truck, that I fully designed. Created, planned and organized the 1st and 2nd Annual Pawpalooza event, featuring low cost vaccinations, quick city licenses, concessions, face paintings, and animal-friendly vendors. Established new adoption procedures to ensure that all pets were spayed and neutered. Pets would stay over until their surgery date and either the parent could pick up from surgery or I would bring the pet back to the shelter for pickup. This helped improve altering rates and prevent adopters receiving citations.Implemented new Chicken ordinance within the city. Designed, planned, and organized the protocols then presented to City Council. Put new dangerous dog ordinance into place
