Represented the UNC Computer Science Department by acting as a liaison between computer science students at UNC and the CS department. Hosted monthly events for the CS community seeking to uplift diversity on campus and within the department. Fostered a welcoming, inclusive, and diverse environment for CS students at UNC and beyond.

Led weekly lectures for 50+ students and developed a comprehensive curriculum on the fundamentals of coding and website development, including CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and React. Managed teaching assistants (TAs) for the course and collaborated closely with the class admin team to devise ways to develop an effective curriculum, integrate feedback from students, and empower students to build a portfolio of 4 projects over the semester.

Instructed students on all things coding and website development (CSS, HTML, JavaScript, React, Node.js) and worked closely with the course instructor to develop an effective curriculum that incorporated impactful lesson plans and assignments on fundamental CS subjects.

Collaborated with fellow executive members to produce a cohesive team working to uplift, support, and create space for Black women at UNC. Curated content for and attended to club outreach initiatives through Sis2Sis’ social media platforms, including Instagram and LinkedIn. Identified the needs of the community of Black women at UNC through meaningful, constructive conversations and brainstorming before working to produce resources, solutions, and events. Fostered an inclusive space for Black women as well as all the larger Black community through partnerships with other organizations.

Developed a machine learning (ML) algorithm that intelligently identifies cells of the human lung, a process that was previously manual and required hours of sample inspections and tracing. Parsed, prepared, and cleaned 15K+ datapoints for training of the algorithm. Worked independently to outline and break down large ML projects, plan tasks and required steps, and schedule the path toward larger, overarching goals and themes of the lab. Committed 10hr/week to research.

Mentored computer science (CS) students and provided guidance on all aspects of life at UNC, ranging from applying to the CS major to transitioning to college. Acted as a resource to students and worked to create an open environment for conversation, community, and counseling.

Built 4 projects over 10 weeks while simultaneously learning new backend skills, including Prisma and Express, and proactively setting deadlines for project features throughout development. Collaborated closely with my Meta manager and peer mentors to develop a full stack website, Sync, and write 5,000+ lines of code. Gained invaluable experience in environment where "building fast" and creating high-quality technology to connect millions of people are both prioritized initiatives. Had the opportunity to work on wide-reaching projects and impact thousands of individuals across the globe. Forged meaningful connections with like-minded individuals in the computer science field by sharing perspectives and directions on code implementation.

Ensured a smooth gameday experience at UNC-CH Football and Basketball home games by serving as a liaison between guests and staff, managing guest access to luxury spaces, and by assisting guests with various tasks when needed. Directed other FANgineers as a FANgineer Group Leader and delegated tasks each game. Learned and exercised efficient collaboration skills with colleagues in a fast-paced environment and the ability to make tough in-the-moment decisions.

Created an inviting and caring environment through customer service while attending to the miscellaneous needs and requests of clients. Oversaw merchandise pricing, stock, organization, and overall management. Worked closely with coworkers to accomplish tasks and maintain the store. Learned to multitask effectively, act proactively, and make appropriate decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Utilized communication and marketing skills to create meaningful connections with 7K+ students and families through formal presentations, 1:1 conversations, & digital marketing tactics. Managed and practiced data analysis to support marketing efforts.

Studied financial investment topics, such as stocks, REITs, and bonds, before making educated investment decisions. Visited and had educational, high-level discussions with top firms, including Goldman Sachs and WT Partnership (WT).

Published an official scientific article on the future of Deepfake technology after exploring the art and mechanics of science writing. Worked with peers to develop a Python Machine Learning algorithm used to predict song popularity by analyzing characteristics of music and presented our work to the public at a formal Symposium.
