As the Director of Applied Research at Pacific Community Ventures' leading-edge Good Jobs Innovation Lab, Destiny is dedicated to using research to help foundations and philanthropists, policymakers, and impact investors measure and communicate the outcomes of their investments while increasing their impact. She is committed to fostering a culture of innovation by optimizing impact in communities who have been underestimated, serving as a thought leader to CDFIs and other community practitioners.

A yoga practitioner for six years, I have rooted my practice in mindfulness and social justice, specializing in Yin, Restorative, and Vinyasa flow. My objective is to provide yoga to individuals from all communities, all body types, and those who have experienced trauma. I hope to help others within their yoga journey realize and understand the benefits of yoga for themselves, within their own bodies and practice.

As a research analyst I conduct data analysis on various longitudinal national surveys focused on colleges and universities, as well as develop research briefs and infographics on said surveys.

I have taught a variety of courses dealing with social issues in the Education Department and the Sociology Department. These courses have provided me with a toolkit in facilitating rich but difficult dialogues, cultivating safe spaces, and offering opportunity for student autonomy. My teaching philosophy is student-centered. During my time serving as a TA and special reader in higher education, I have come to understand just how impactful it is to allow students the opportunity to co-create knowledge by co-constructing courses with me. These positions allowed to me to explore various teaching styles and give my students flexibility with how class or one-on-one meetings would run.
