As a returning intern, I continued my work of developing a data-driven state estimation approach using a novel generative AI model. I specifically developed and trained this model in PyTorch and compared it's performance with state-of-the-art baselines where it outperformed them based on many metrics. Beyond the summer, I am now looking into additional contextual features that I could embed into the learning of the model to make predictions even better.

As a temporary government contractor with AFRL, I assisted in a distribution-C level research project that explored the use of a deep latent variable model in various state estimation tasks. This model was built and trained through the use of the PyTorch framework. It's progress was documented on a project page within the ATR portion of the Virtual Distributed Library (VDL), and I formally presented final performance results of the model at the end of the summer.

Participated in a virtual research internship at MIT, where we focused on professional development, the graduate school application process, network development, and specialized research into our specific fields of interest and presenting on the information found. Specifically, I worked in the Robust Robotics Group (RRG), where I led an independent research project that measured the efficiency of using an ultrasonic sensor in an unmanned navigation task.

Participated as an intern apart of the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) at Stanford University where I specifically worked in the Collaborative Haptics and Robotics in Medicine (CHARM) Lab. During my time, my mentor, Fabio Stroppa, and I worked towards developing a simulation for a soft robot that was being designed in the lab and implementing a shared autonomy algorithm to that robot that allowed the robot to manipulate objects within its environment autonomously.
