Hi I'm Dev :)I am a final-year Chemical Engineering student at NIT Surat with a CGPA of 9.56, driven by a passion for advancing industrial efficiency and promoting sustainability. My technical expertise includes proficiency in process simulators like DWSIM and Aspen Plus, which I utilize to address modern engineering challenges with innovative solutions.I have worked as an industrial training intern at BASF India Ltd. and a research intern at TUM, Germany, through the prestigious DAAD WISE Fellowship program. At TUM, I explored sustainable technologies like formaldehyde-based tools and ventured into biotechnology research, broadening my understanding beyond core chemical engineering.Beyond my enriching professional experiences, I’ve had several leadership roles & have worked in several collaborative projects, As President of ChES: Chemical Engineering Society (AIChE SVNIT Chapter), I have led impactful initiatives, collaborating with juniors on both technical and non-technical projects. One of the highlights of my tenure was mentoring a team to present their Chem-E-Car at ASC'24 Conference, where they earned recognition for their innovative mechanism. My experiences also include working with Team DRISHTI at SVNIT on projects such as Chem-E-Car, carbon capture research, and the design and manufacturing of a heat exchanger.Outside of academics, I find inspiration in gardening and cooking, which keeps me grounded. My curiosity has also driven me to explore diverse fields, including basic coding in MATLAB and Python, graphic designing, and video editing. These pursuits reflect my adaptability and multidisciplinary approach, which set me apart in today’s dynamic landscape.I am passionate about exploring the latest advancements in the chemical industry and sharing insights on sustainability, innovation, and technology trends. Through my posts and engagements, I aim to not only stay ahead of the curve but also inspire others to delve into the exciting possibilities our field offers.I’m open to learning, collaborating, and contributing to groundbreaking projects in the chemical industry. Let’s connect and shape a sustainable future together!

Summer Research InternTechnical University Of Munich May 2024 - Jul 2024Munich, Bavaria, DeAbstract : This report explores formaldehyde (FA) and its applications in industrial processes, focusing on production methods, kinetic studies, and hydrogen storage technolo- gies. The introduction chapter provides an overview of formaldehyde's significance and its hazardous nature, detailing its physical properties, interactions with wa- ter and alcohols, and conventional production via methanol oxidation. It also assesses the potential of oxymethylene ethers (OMEs) and oxymethylene butyl ethers (OMBEs) as environmentally friendly diesel additives. The study intro- duces a novel electrobiochemical method for enhancing methanol decomposition, utilizing voltage to lower activation energy and improve reaction efficiency. This method is simulated using ASPEN PLUS, highlighting a process model that inte- grates MATLAB and Excel for comprehensive analysis and optimizing formalde- hyde production through reactive distillation.Further, the kinetics study investigates the formation of polyoxymethylene ethers from formaldehyde and butanol using NMR and GC techniques, revealing complex- ities in reaction kinetics and side product formation. The final chapter addresses hydrogen storage using Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD), proposing a method that converts hydrogen into storage-friendly forms and integrating a pro- cess simulation to optimize the system. The research provides a foundational ap- proach for advancing formaldehyde production and hydrogen storage technologies, suggesting areas for future exploration and development in these fields. -
