The Biosecurity Network is a coaching organization looking to help solve bottlenecks and career challenges in biosecurity.My role includes the following and more:Providing career advice to young professionals looking to work in the biosecurity space. Developing stakeholder connections with experts in the biosecurity space and maintaining them.Innovating ways to increase the impact of promising individuals through exercises, coaching, and other methods.Strategise on how the organization is shaped and our future direction.

We try to stir students’ inspiration by suggesting research paths which are important from this perspective yet neglected and thus could provide opportunities for higher impact via research. We also provide feedback on topic ideas, connect students with researchers who are already working in the given areas and connect them with other students working on similar issues.Our project is based on the principles of Effective Altruism, specifically with regard to how to use one’s resources to do the most good. It is also informed by the advice of 80000 Hours about how to use one’s career to significantly improve the world
