I am senior research scientist for synthetic chemistry. My laboratory team makes many classes of compounds to support our catalog of over 20,000 specialty chemicals and carries out custom synthesis for specialty, advanced, and novel chemicals. I also lead our organic chemistry contract research service and small molecule design & optimization consulting. My laboratory team carries out synthesis of advanced specialty organic compounds for the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. I also provide consulting services and contract research for medicinal chemistry and many areas of organic chemistry.

I directed synthesis projects for advanced specialty organic compounds, served as lead scientist on our contract research to support the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, and provided consulting services for medicinal chemistry.

I was senior research scientist for synthetic chemistry. I directed the synthetic organic laboratory team for the production of advanced specialty compounds, directed and supervised contract research projects, and established R&D collaborations with several pharmaceutical companies and other life-sciences-based research institutions.

I served as team member on four internal lead optimization programs directed toward kinases; synthesized several active series of kinase, transfer protein inhibitors, novel receptor agonists and novel immunosuppressive compounds; handled scale-up of drug candidates for pharmacokinetic and in vivo studies; synthesized competitor compounds for use as standards in binding assays; worked closely with computational colleagues using structural drug design and multivariant analysis to optimize potency, selectivity and pharmacology; contributed to five invention patents; participant and presenter in bi-weekly organic and medicinal chemistry literature group meetings.

I was responsible for the design and syntheses of small molecule libraries and target molecules using traditional organic chemistry and parallel synthesis (solid and solution phase); developed and synthesized several kinase-focused libraries with >19,000 total compounds in 18 months to generate over $4.5 M in revenue; carried out automated parallel syntheses; prepared functional core derivatives on medium-to-large scale (1–100 g) for use as building blocks.
