Devan is an impassioned urban planning professional and creative seeking to leverage architectural and planning knowledge, as well as strong people and social skills, in academic and/or developmental settings. Devan is author of the "The Backstage Los Angeles" (2010), as well as several ongoing projects affectionately documenting Los Angeles' unique built and sociocultural environment. Devan possesses extensive knowledge of the built urban environment, as well as history, geopolitics, geography, and social issues across the world, as well as a level of intimate familiarity aided by having visited nearly 60 countries worldwide. As a person, he is motivated by the diverse cultures and peoples of the world, something deeply influenced by his unique living experiences across the world. This in part informs his willingness to work with and understand people and problems from all walks of life. Strong proficiency in a wide array of relevant software and technology, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint, Canva, ArcGIS, Google Suite, Census Explorer, and Simply Analytics.Native English speaker, with secondary Spanish fluency, and conversational Norwegian.
