MAIN DUTIESTo assist ERVAS in delivering a training programme to individuals and the voluntary and community sector as appropriate, ensuring information is shared and disseminated as appropriate and to co-ordinate and develop a suite of training packages under the Buddying Opens Opportunities, Skills and Training (BOOST) Programme. Ensure effective support mechanisms for the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) are in place to enable them to access suitable training.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage, develop, design and deliver training and development programmes/packages based on the needs of the organisation or individual- Identify training needs for the sector- Identify training and development needs within ERVAS to suitably deliver training packages to the wider voluntary sector- Produce a range of training programmes that are satisfactory, including accredited training and non-accredited training- Develop bespoke training packages for the VCS- Market all training packages using a variety of methods- Develop training materials for in-house and external delivery- Co-ordinate the training diary and training programmes- Evaluate training and development programmes- Plan and assess the ‘return on investment’ of any training or development programme, ensuring value for money upon delivery- Source suitable external trainers and packages to deliver training programmes- Support the design of a suite of e-learning techniques and where appropriate be involved in the creation and delivery- Build effective relationships with training providers, locally, regionally and nationally- Raise the profile of the VCS by assisting with accredited training packages- Support the development of increased communication and sharing of training information between the VCS, public, communities, team members and statutory agencies- Support the development of additional training opportunities by working with the VCS, staff team to increase resources to meet local needs

The Devan Group was set up in 2012 when I was aged just 15, I set up the Devan Group to provide dog walking services though Devan's Dog Walking and anti-bullying services though the AAB Group also known as Action Against Bullying.The Devan Group has grown over the years to now running many projects, these are:- The AAB Group - Action Against Bullying - Advice For Parents - Advice For Teachers - A project supported by Fixers UK- East Riding Youth Transport - a project that is currently being developed to help improve transport for young people aged 12 - 25 who are living within Hull & East Riding. My Vision is that more action is taken against bullying and that bullying is taken seriously.I work to achieve this Vision by making it my mission to make more people aware of bullying and the affects it can have on young people. Monitoring & Participation Officer - Hull Youth Justice Service
This role was a continuation from the seconded internship with HLC / Talent Match Humber, and the HYJS project was transfered to ERVAS so that I could continue the project further. In this role I was responsible for:-- managing the social media accounts for the Hull Youth Justice Service (HYJS)- working with the customer experiences team to develop a service specific website- taking a leading role in developing the youth voice and influence strategy- delivering both group and one to one interventions- organising appointments for the young people- designing marketing materials for the service whilst ensuring that they meet both local and national government guidelines
Monitoring & Participation Officer - Talent Match Humber
I was part of a team of six staff members delivering Talent Match Humber, a high profile £5.2m Big Lottery funded project aimed at unemployed young people with complex needs aged between 18 and 24. I worked between Talent Match Humber and the Hull Youth Justice Service to facilitate youth participation within both projects / services. This was a seconded internship role between the two organisations. I had an active role in the design and facilitation on the evaluation processes of both Talent Match Humber and the Hull Youth Justice Service, working alongside the beneficiaries’ / service users to do this. I worked closely with young volunteers to carry out both qualitative and quantitative research in order to gain feedback on the service provision. I also acted as an ambassador for and worked alongside young people from thematic groups, to ensure young people had a voice in how the services and programmes they were accessing were designed and delivered by them.The thematic groups of Talent Match Humber are: - Mental Health Issues- Homelessness or in temporary accommodation- Learning Disabilities- Physical Disabilities- Ex-offenders- Gypsies and Travellers- BME (Black and Minority Ethnic)- Young Carers- Lone ParentsI was also carrying out work to design and develop the website(s) and digital media for both organisations whilst ensuring this represented the views of the young people they work with. This is so that the websites are attractive to the young people both organisations work with.I was also responsible for building and maintaining the paddtm.org website in the early days of the project.

Young Advisors (YA's) are trained and employed consultants who guide local authorities, housing associations and other local partners about what it is like for a young person to live, work, learn and play in their neighbourhood. We were the Voice for Young people in our area, and we taught professionals how best to engage with young people.- Young Advisors's helped organisations to 'youth proof' their practices, policies, strategies and commissioning.- We helped organisations understand how to attract and maintain the interests of young people.- We were able to speak out for young people, making sure their thoughts and feelings were considered in all the decisions that affected them.- We also engaged directly with other young people to get them involved in neighbourhood improvements.As part of this role I also attended various meetings with the local school council and East Riding Council Youth Voice to gain an understanding of young people's views and to represent young people on a wider scale. I held a talk about the importance of implementing anti-bullying initiatives in schools and also carried out research to aid with the council's supporting and empowering families document also known as "East Riding Supporting and Empowering Families:Our Needs Assessment 2012-2015".
