Established in September 2013 in Jakarta, the Australian Mission to ASEAN works to advance Australia’s interests with ASEAN and ASEAN institutions. As a Senior Program Manager, I worked within the Human Security portfolio managing Australia’s key investments in labour migration and counter human trafficking.• Oversaw and managed the delivery of two Australia’s investments on labour migration and counter human trafficking in Southeast Asia, including stakeholder, performance, financial, contract and risk management.• Led strategic communications and public diplomacy for the Mission’s Human Security Portfolio, including reviewing communications strategies and developing strategic content to increase awareness of the Mission’s programs.• Provided strategic advice on program activities, emerging issues and key risks through briefings, presentations and internal evaluation reporting.• Represented the Australian Government at high-level meetings, functions and events attended by representatives from international organisations and ASEAN officials, including the ASEAN Secretariat, ASEAN Member States, ASEAN Sectoral Bodies, donor governments, the International Labour Organisation, the International Organisation for Migration, civil society, trade unions and employers’ organisations.• Managed and built relationships with implementing partners, donors, ASEAN Secretariat, SEA Governments, and other Australian Missions in the ASEAN region.

The Australian Embassy in Indonesia is the largest Australian overseas diplomatic mission with over 600 local and Australian staff working to strengthen the bilateral relationship between Australia and Indonesia. I worked in the Consular and Administration branch in five work units, including HR, Consular, Transport, Visits, and Property.• Liaised with high-level professionals, internal and external stakeholders to develop, implement and coordinate training programs.• Coordinated the visits of senior officials from Canberra to deliver training, including drafting visit programs and liaising with internal stakeholders to arrange an effective schedule.• Managed the in-country language training, personnel administration and HR-related processes for Australian posted officers.• Conducted a review with the Language Studies Unit (LSU) in Canberra to ensure the in-country language training for diplomats was of the highest standard. The review included focus group sessions, market testing and delivering a report to DFAT for LSU’s review.
