Major contribution to the novel approaches are in the areas of:• Test case design: A test design technique based on Cause-Effect graph and path sensitizing technique that finds faults both in requirements and code and that can be applied to System testing, Integration Testing and Unit Testing.• Agile methodologies: Determining what modification needed to the old test cases and what additional test cases required to get full coverage in the wake of change of requirements.• Requirements Based Testing: Ensuring that requirements are correct, complete, logically consistence, unambiguous and irredundant (Design for Testability), and creating a necessary and sufficient set of test cases, from a black box perspective, to ensure that the design and code fully meet those requirements.• Structural coverage: How to measure the structural coverage (MC/DC) obtained by executing the Black-box (functional) test cases without any coverage analyser tool and to supplement tests to attain 100% MC/DC coverage.• Test effectiveness: How to improve and measure test effectiveness quantitatively with regard to structural coverage, fault finding ability and size of the test suit.

The job focused on independent innovative thinking as well as group research activities in Power system planning, energy management, and application of Optimization. Research areas included analyzing and simulating the impact of Distributed Generation System on the Distribution Network, identifying challenges in a deregulated Electricity market. The results obtained from new method, operational strategy, and new algorithms were used to develop software application tools integrated with IEDs that are used by electricity utility services and management services. The responsibility also included to perform functional testing including Function Equivalence Testing to validate the result, to create new application (business logic) by collecting appropriate services, to identify, diagnose, report, and assist developers in finding hard to test path (by predicate constraint solving) during unit testing. Lead the development of the product vision, the integrated view of how the product will serve the needs of the customer and come up with clear product roadmap. Projects included:• Analyzed the impact of Distributed Generation on Distribution Network such as operational conflicts and technical issues such as stability, protection, reliability, automatic generation control etc.• Proposed proper interfacing operational strategy between the different protection switchgear components to enhance the reliability of Distribution Network with Distributed Generations through the adaptation of microprocessor PLC modular units interfacing agents.• Modified the formulation of Optimal power Flow to determine the real time pricing (spot price) and rate structure of electricity in a deregulation/re-regulation electricity market.• Analyzed Power Economics in a deregulation scenario concerning the issues of bilateral contracts between the suppliers and buyers, transmission loss sharing, transmission cost and reactive power generation etc.

Responsibility of this position included but not limited to operation and maintenance of Thermal power plant, coordination of different workforces, and planning, supervision and checking of multiple activities during overhauling (using MS Project), decision making, tripping analysis, quality management to enhance the reliability in operation, and team activities. The major accomplishments were:Control room operation: Coordinated the operation of 110 MW, 200 MW and 500 MW units (steam turbine of GE, ABB, SIEMENS, BHEL) like Pre-start checks, post start check, Unit startup, Synchronization, Stabilization and maintained of optimum parameter. Coordinated the operation of switchyard.Managed control loops such as burner management systems, FSSS, airflow controls and Automatic Turbine Run-up System (ATRS) etc.Analyzed major events by cause-effect diagram, flowcharting (using data from Data Acquisition System).
