The USAF Cargo and Passenger System (CAPSII and GATES) was a globally distributed system with satellite sites running autonomously producing and consuming data within the system. Implemented strong security measures, trained numerous personnel in Unix system administration and network troubleshooting. Created SQL database to maintain all hardware, software and license information in a custom asset inventory system. During summer of 1997 deployed to Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia for 100 days in support of “Operation Southern Watch”. Administered two Sun SPARC Ultra 5 workstations, maintained system performance, system backups and performed application maintenance. Handled data records/reports and reconciled cargo and passenger manifests to recover tens of thousands of dollars in lost freight invoices. -
