Developed use-cases, tests, and benchmarks for two open source software systems: Vuze and Rhythmbox, then proceeded to study each system, based on profiling and events, and found that we could reduce the power consumption of both applications by reducing the number of events they generated without harming usability finally producing a significant amount of decrease in the power consumption of the two softwares.
