IPA is the largest supplier of stretch wrap packaging in Australia with three manufacturing plants in WA, Victoria and NSW. The Chester Hill Business unit has a turnover of $45 million, with a staff of 110. The plant operates 24-7. This factory was owned by Aperio group from 2006-2012. Aperio Group was the largest manufacturer of flexible packaging in Australia and New Zealand with a turn over exceeding $ 600 million and over 850 staff. (Formerly AEP Australia, subsidiary of AEP, USA)The company has a fully integrated ERP system. The accounts receivable and payables transactions are processed by central services. Currently employed as the Accounting Manager/Business unit Accountant reporting to General Manager and Group CFO in Melbourne. Key responsibilities; All management accounting and most financial accounting for the business unit.  Coordinating and preparing annual/ bi-annual budgets.  Preparing and reporting monthly/ annual profit and loss for the business unit. Preparing weekly profit forecast and dashboard. Complete responsibility for maintaining and improving the standard costing system.  Preparing and obtaining management approval for machine and labour recovery rates.  Analysing and reporting on material, labour, overheads and purchase variances. Managing the production related reporting and responding to efficiency variances on daily/weekly basis.  Analysing customer, product profitability and working with National Sales Manager to improve profitability. Responsible for all KPI reporting to corporate office and business unit management team.  Working closely with GM, Operations manager, dept. managers and supervisors to improve production efficiencies and maximise recoveries.  Co-ordinating the management of inventory with supply chain manager.  Working with IT staff and external consultants on IT solutions to improve the capture of data and transform them into information for relevant managers.

Responsibilities: All Management accounting and some financial accounting of the company. Developing and maintaining the company's management reporting system. Working with MD and National sales Manager and improving/maintaining customer margins.  Analysing and reporting on material, labour, overheads and purchase variances. Changing product costing methodology and implementing and maintaining a new standard costing system.  Working with operational and technical staff in setting product standards and cost for new products.  Working with Operations/Supplier chain manager on production planning, improving efficiencies and maximising recoveries.  Co-ordinating the management of inventory in 7 branches and related reporting systems.  Working with IT Manager and external consultants on IT solutions for production data capture, usage variance reporting and other ERP system issues.  Maintaining fixed asset register. Maintaining and reporting on cashflow.  Writing management reports on MAPICS software e.g. Income statements and balance sheet reports for SBU's, branches and consolidated.
