Business is in my DNA, stemming from a family legacy over a century strong. My journey began in 1995 with our family’s packaged drinking water venture, alongside completing my Bachelor of Commerce in Kolkata. A pivotal moment came in 1997 when I pursued an MBA at Bond University, Australia. This experience reshaped my thinking, revealing the need to distinguish between ownership and the business itself—an insight that has guided my path since.In 1999, armed with a modest capital and fresh vision, I launched MAGPET, a PET preform manufacturing company. What started as a backward integration for our family business rapidly evolved into the group’s flagship enterprise, driven by my commitment to invest in people and cutting-edge technology. Later, attending Harvard Business School’s OPM program deepened my resolve to create enduring value for all stakeholders. Today, MAGPET is on the cusp of transforming into India’s first PET circular enterprise, with the establishment of METAPET—a Bottle-to-Bottle, food-grade PET resin plant in West Bengal—pushing the envelope of responsible, sustainable business.Amid this progress, family remains my anchor, and I cherish every moment spent with them.
