I am currently leading Fund-raising, Strategy and Corporate development at a unique startup called Sarvagram. At Sarvagram, we are changing the way in which financial services, risk products and other productivity enhancement solutions are distributed to >80 million households in rural India. Founded by financial services veterans, Utpal and Sameer, Sarvagram is changing the entire paradigm of retail credit via its unique household focussed data-driven underwriting. We collect and use trememdous amount of rich data from these households to which helps us understand these "difficult" customers very well and then offer products/services in an extremely targetted manner. We have been backed by world class investors viz. Elevar Equity, Elevation Capital, Temasek and TVS Capital Funds.As part of the strategy office, I am working closely with the CXOs to ensure our short-term and long-term strategy is executed to perfection. At the same time, I raise funds (equity/debt) for us and manage investors relations. Recently I spent a couple of years at startups (ShopX, Xcelerator) in corp dev/strategy/program management roles, having led teams and P&Ls as well. Prior to the startup gig, I spent much of my career leading deals at a boutique investment bank called Unitus Capital, covering financial services and edtech sectors. During my 9+ years of investment banking, I closed 15 deals across multiple sectors (financial services, education, healthcare and agriculture) and deal sizes. I had worked on sell-side fund-raise/M&A assignments and buy-side fund-raise/advisory assignments as well. Priofessionally, people know me for my strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, problem solving capabilities, BD skills, relationship management and deal making capabilities.
