I joined Maxar to help launch their next generation platform called MGP, which aimed to make high-quality data and services more accessible to individuals and institutions alike. Our goal was to create a solid foundation for the company's growth.My team was responsible for developing and commercializing our content and analytics via a single platform. Planet has the benefit of being the only source of daily monitoring for the entire landmass of the Earth due to the 200+ satellites in our constellation. I get to work with a fantastic team of PMs, Engineers, and Summer Interns to ensure we get data into as many hands as possible.Every day, my responsibility switches between being technically involved in increasing API service performance, generating training data, and running ML models - all the way to working with C-suite to deploy a proper Go-To-Market strategy, hosting key customers onsite, and doing journalist interviews to promote our company, mission, products and services. This is because, at Planet, we have the burden to educate non-traditional customers to the benefits of such an impressive dataset. For these new markets, my responsibility is to -- Be a GM by building the GTM strategy for a new industry. This also includes working at times as a BD lead and Pre-Sales Engineer. - Analyze our imagery using the latest ML/CV techniques to find answers to questions that are otherwise harder to determine. Examples: How many kilometers of roads were constructed in the West Texas in July 2017? Can I then reduce my fleet's OpEx by 15% to increase margins?- Use novel techniques to build better multispectral imagery products- Build automated pipelines to analyze TBs of Geospatial data in minutes- Use 3rd party datasets to provide additional context for a given industry
