“Data powers everything that we do.” Thank God I realized this on time.𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠As a kid, I was a quiet one who always tried to find out how things worked and as a result of this curiosity I graduated as a Mechanical Engineer, and that too was a good one (you can ask my teachers).During my engineering days, the term 'Data Science' caught my attention. Being an inquisitive person I joined an online Data Science course which made me feel it is something I would love doing and requires qualities I naturally possess; intellectual curiosity and a drive to find answers to questions that the data presents. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲Today I work as a Lead Data Scientist/Data Engineer at brandonlone.io. I started as an intern and delivered our client’s Data and Analytics requirements. Now as a Lead Data Strategist, I focus on developing our product and shaping its cloud-based architecture. My work revolves around leveraging cloud computing platforms, data pipelines and customer data to create an engaging customer experience. I’ve also pioneered new technologies, implementing them to enhance various aspects of our product.𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩In two years, I went from being an intern to managing a great group of colleagues; as a result, this journey allowed me to interact with diverse individuals, from college interns to accomplished professionals. During the process, I learned the importance of immediate appreciation. Recognizing and appreciating others can help to boost morale in the workplace which will keep team motivation high and reduce burnout which has become a core part of our industry.𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤When I am not at work, you can find me creating tools that simplify some of my tasks like creating a Fantasy Football team using data, etc. or learning something out of my field of expertise like personal finance (which I think should be part of every school’s curriculum).
