Created an applied learning STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math) curriculum designed to enrich student’s core studies of science, math, and language arts through technology and design learning activities. Studying the designs of and ultimately building models of roller coasters, bridges, infrastructure, consumer products, and participating in the Lego Robotics curriculum taught students the STEM/STEAM principles behind them. Using problem solving methods, the design process, and making skills, students brainstormed and executed projects through brief writing, research, model making, and learning to collaborate as teams. Projects culminated in end-of-term student shows where teams presented their work to faculty, parents, and their peers.
