I provide leadership to a team of 54, ensuring our team members are empowered and enabled with the training, technology and processes to provide excellent and culturally safe services. We ensure data informs the development, implementation and evaluation of our performance standards with the goal of continuously improving the quality of care we provide. I also work as a part of collaborative senior team to advance our strategic priorities in alignment the FNHA’s overarching goals, objectives and key priorities. I regularly engage with a spectrum of stakeholders including communities; political and health leaders and; government partners to promote access and lead transformational strategies of the organization. Our operations team implements relevant elements of change where we ensure people are at the center of everything we do.

Supervised the day-to-day supervision of the operations team including: Dental; Medical Supplies & Equipment; Pharmacy; Mental Health and; Vision Care units. I reviewed complex cases, exceptions and appeals, including the provision of analysis, advice and recommendations to senior leaders. Responsible for the recruitment of new team members; performance management; training and coaching; staff pay, leave and benefits; with advanced knowledge of collective agreement and labor laws. Participated in a number of engagement activities including: community members; political and health leadership; providers; tripartite partners; professional associations and regulatory bodies.

I provided holistic support to survivors and their family members throughout the province of BC. I developed a comprehensive knowledge of the Indian Residential School Settlement Agreement, legislation and services pertinent to former students and their family members. I had the opportunity to participate in in a number of events and conferences pertaining to reconciliation and healing.

We established a partnership with the BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres and individual communities for the roll out of 25 residential school exhibits and three youth events. Contributed to the oversight and development of an educational website (web-based curriculum materials). I developed and monitored the project plan including executive engagement and updates. I managed the project's finances including funding; budgeting; reporting requirements and; expenses. I worked to source vendors/ consultants pertaining to project requirements while monitoring invoicing and product quality.

I re-designed the Office’s youth education modules, power points, communication materials and evaluation tools. I set-up and delivered a number of presentations with educational institutions and community organizations. I engaged in follow-up to enhance the program activities and to set up future presentations.
