I have been staying in Viet Nam with the purpose of conducting extensive research on sustainable public transit development. Hence, I was:- Actively searching for and analyzing various types of quantitative and qualitative data.- Creating and expanding the local network of people to assist me with the research process.- Conducting conversations and in-depth interviews with the local population, businesses and government officials.- Reporting on preliminary findings in front of the board of experts at the local host institution.- Presenting the final results in the Netherlands.

I was working as a Research Assistant Intern at the Center for Foreign Policy and Peace Research, which is based in Bilkent University area and is under the auspices of İhsan Doğramacı Peace Foundation. The main purpose of the Center is to promoting and designing agendas and policies that would contribute to the peaceful resolution of international and inter-communal conflicts occurring in the regions surrounding Turkey and beyond.As an intern I was assisting my head supervisor and fellow researchers in the Center with the following:- Analyzing various online databases and searching for Russian academic sources (given my proficiency in Russian)- Preparing reports on the obtained sources and presenting the preliminary results to the supervisor for further evaluation and analysis.- Translating necessary Russian academic articles and papers into English/Turkish on request- Organizing workshops and conferences and later, participating in the relevant political and economic discussions- Promoting the Center's academic journal called All Azimuth.
