The journey at Salaam Bombay has been full of learning and challenges and has inspired and impressed on me the need of contributing in the setting up and scaling up such organizations.I joined Salaam Bombay as a Senior Coordinator and was the 1st on-roll employee. I played a critical part in the setting up, establishment, nurture and growth of the Foundation right from its registration phase. Over the years, spearheaded all responsibilities pertaining to strategy making and implementation, project management and deliveries, budgeting, module/content creation, supporting of fund raising and communication, HR, administration and stakeholder and team management. Currently, I am entrusted with the Vocational Skills (VS) & Sports verticals which I have launched & set up from the start with its mission focus of enrolling state government run school children in the stream and ensuring a brighter future and continued education for them.Prior to this, initiated the Foundation’s work with pilot project Super Army which expanded to include different elements like Sports, Arts and Vocational Skills. Designed and implemented new programs/projects on a continuous basis, created blue print & road map for the organization to progress from tobacco control to tobacco advocacy, built long term relationships with government/regulatory authorities and agencies and increased the sphere of influence and organizational span from an individual level to a larger ecosystem. Launched multiple media campaigns for promoting tobacco advocacy, cultivated leading domain experts and KOLs (Key Opinion Leader), drove myriad projects/programs across the project life-cycle and led rural outreach agendas of the Foundation. Other responsibilities included budgeting and financial management, research, HR, administration and training & development.

Managing administrative function of the school, preparation of curriculum, supervision of teachers, student/parent counselling, organization of outreach and home visit services and vocational trainings for children were some of my key responsibilities.

As a Coordinator, I was responsible for coordinating between the HO in Mumbai and the institute in Dehradun, preparation of budgets, fund raising activities, report making and presentation to the Directors. A key success here was acquisition of requisite funds for a Speech Therapy Room with all equipments.
