CurrentPurchased Product Engineer – Department of Energy (DOE) “Q” Level Security Clearance Appointed as program technical lead for 15 part numbers manufactured across 4 external suppliers. Led a successful program design review for Sandia National Laboratories and the National Nuclear Security Association (NNSA), resulting in program approval to move forward with qualification builds. Achieved 83 departmental continuous improvements in FY22, resulting in >$78,000 of cost savings. Successfully achieved 33 program milestones in FY22. Mentored 5 employees, helping promote 1 to Engineer III, 1 transfer to a National Laboratory in Cyber Security, and 2 interns being offered return positions. Collaborated with Test Engineering to qualify a new electrical tester design, accomplishing program milestones within scheduled deadlines. Implemented a new process for Optical Coordinate Measure Machines (CMM) to be used on program components utilizing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles (GD&T). Aided in the design, inspection, and implementation of custom metal machined inspection gages for program components that utilized GD&T. Led the creation and presentation of program report cards to directors and senior management on weekly/monthly basis, using detailed program knowledge to defend program status and issues. Led department project for part/vendor comparison using statistical analysis, Minitab, and Capability Analysis. Project outcomes included increased producibility, improved part designs, and avoidance of future nonconformances. Received Design for Six Sigma Greenbelt by leading a project that resulted in continuous cost savings of >$30,000 per year with the use of a new PDF tool across multiple departments.
