Passion.Passion is not strong enough to describe my love for design. Ever since I stepped foot into the working world, I realized that every job I have ever had has one common thread, design. The Merriam-Websters dictionary defines design as “to create, fashion, execute, or construct according to plan” or “to conceive and plan out in the mind”. What job does not need a plan? How else would any job get done successfully, if not a well thought out design? However design does not always just mean a plan; it could also refer to a beautiful piece of art. From a detailed painting to a warm inviting room, yes, a design is a well thought out plan, but it is also a passionately made art form. Design goes beyond just being organized; the goal is to create. Creating a space or a masterpiece, something that appeals to the senses. Something that comforts or touches a persons heart. A true designer can see beyond the space that is and see what it could be.Every designer I have ever met has always had one trait in common, passion. Yes, they put their heart into their work and they genuinely love what they do! I have never met a designer who has not genuinely loved their work. The freedom to creatively make something new, but also to do that for someone else is a true gift and opportunity. For these reasons, I have chosen the path to become an interior designer. As an interior designer I strive to take in consideration not only a customer’s style and desired aesthetic, but also their budget, their functional needs, and what they already own. I enjoy getting to know my customer. What are their interests? What is the family dynamic? Knowing these details is what will really help personalize a space. Designing for yourself is easy, designing for some one else is a challenge. So, taking on that challenge, and really putting yourself in their shoes will help you to really cater to the client’s desire. My love of design transcends past interior design alone, it is incorporated into my daily life. When I am not creating for customers, I am pouring my heart into passion projects at home. I am always looking for new budget friendly DIYs, creating décor for my own home, and designing themed events. I have dabbled in everything from making my own soaps to getting creative in the kitchen. I aim to share these projects freely with others on my Instagram blog, which serves as my creative outlet and another opportunity to share with others. These personal projects keep the fire burning in my heart to stay creative and to inspire others to do the same.
