I was born in Manhattan, KS (the little apple) and now live in Boone, NC. I started to learn code as a hobby and that interest quickly became a career focus for me. After studying both biology and criminology, I realized computer science and software engineering was the right field for me. As a non traditional student, I have full-time work experience, transferable skills from prior educational pursuits and a higher level of motivation from returning to complete my education.I am in my final year of school as an undergraduate student studying Computer Science at Appalachian State University. I am a detail-oriented, responsible, and committed student, with a punctual, get-it-done attitude. My interests are in debugging, video game programming, backend development and data manipulation. I chose to major in computer science because it gives me the opportunity to explore my interests: problem solving, solving puzzles, logical thinking and creating new systems. I am a quick learner and adept to learning new skills and programming languages. I am currently employed with Overmountain Studios, a local web design and web development company that offers a wide variety of professional services.
