* My professional goal is to advance the ability use alternate starting blocks for priority plastics that are currently made from petroleum, and/or better position recycled plastics as preferred feedstock.* Since joining the chemical industry, I have come to accurately use several pieces of analytical equipment for evaluating polymer resins in the research I am assisting with. The pieces of equipment are a DSC, TGA, Melt Flow Indexer, Izod impact tester, Inston equipment, and two different types of UV-Vis spectroscopy.* I have experience with small scale continuous process scale-up from a small scale batch process.* Have developed a better method for color testing of foam samples* Experience as a capital project manager for procurement of project critical equipment* Gained hands-on experience in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and computer programming/hardware issues on various pieces of extrusion equipment.Specialties: * My current specialty is using and evaluating DSC and TGA* Have used HPLC-UV/Vis, NMR, FT-IR, IR, GC-FID, LC, and Ion-exchane resins in the past to identify purity and chemical content of samples* Using microwaves to speed up chemical reactions
