As a graduate student in the University of Iowa’s MA in Rehabilitation Counseling Program and a U.S. Department of Education RSA scholarship recipient, I am passionate about advancing accessible mental health care, specializing in vocational rehabilitation. My background includes diverse hands-on experience, from program advocacy with Opening Doors in Dubuque to mental health work as a visiting counselor with Hillcrest Family Services. I also gained international insight during an internship with the Social Democrats in Ireland, where I deepened my understanding of geopolitical and social issues. With a solid foundation in psychological research from Loras College and recognition as a Benjamin A. Gilman and Fund for Education Abroad scholar, I am committed to fostering social justice in global contexts. I intend to bring my skills and dedication to a future role as a Foreign Service Officer, where I can further advocate for equitable access and intercultural understanding
