I also identified statistical problems with a widely used dataset, and helped produce datasets on undersourced extremist platforms.

Doing Research with Mark Graham as part of a Fell fund grant. We focused on internet-geographic questions about how people use technology over physical space to interact with one another, and how that differs in differing geographic and linguistic contexts. Principal result was a paper entitled "Where in the World are You? Geolocation and Language.

Analyzed Twitter data via the Firehose as well as bit.ly data to figure out connections between Twitter activities and what is actually clicked on. Identified the initial Tweets that announced the death of Osama bin Laden, and mapped the cascades following that initial report.
