Current PhD student at UC Santa Barbara in the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Marine Biology. I am interested in the sensitivity of plant responses to climate, as seen through functional traits like phenology (timing of germination, flowering). By studying these traits, we can increase our understanding of how certain characteristics and adaptive strategies allow populations to respond quickly to environmental change, which is crucial in regards to conservation and predicting biological responses to climate change.I am fascinated with the natural world regarding evolution and ecology, particularly in how organisms change and make up the biodiverse ecosystems we depend upon. In addition to my research, I aim to promote learning and scientific understanding, foster diversity in STEM, and increase awareness for the importance of science in society.
