Through my position at Playworks, I demonstrate the power of play in new schools and communities across the Philadelphia region by providing single or multi-day trainings and on-site service delivery. While I was primarily based in Camden, NJ during FY22-23, I worked with 5 schools in the district, and 3 schools in the School District of Philadelphia (SDP). During FY23-24, I worked solely in the SDP in 7 schools.I became a certified trainer to deliver all of Playworks Pro services offered. I started implementing trainings and consultation to teachers, school staff and admin, youth workers, and other clients within youth development and leadership. While completing these trainings, I maintain and develop relationships with clients, including visiting schools to provide further consultation.

The Rutland community has seen a positive impact from the work of this agency, and thourgh the VOAP department, clients receive a unique treatment tailored to their needs.As a counselor for the Vermont Outdoor Adventure Program, I provided and documented clinical services to children and their families in a variety of therapeutic outdoor adventure settings. I developed and led year-round outdoor activities according to the needs of clients, and through these activities, provided mentorship, life-skills modeling, and instruction. I ensured a safe, fun and intentional learning environment for clients and provided them with first aid, medical, and first-injury assessment if needed. Through these activities, I adhered to all safety and risk management practices specific to each trip. I created and maintained a positive and collaborative relationship with clients, families, referral sources, and community partners.

This position gave me experiences in an entrepreneurial food company that I learned so much from. Aside from an awesome work culture and environment, I was able to learn the in's and out's of a successful startup, and see/be a part of the work that happens behind the scenes. The Flying Meatballs gave me insight into a new industry and taught me new skills in marketing, management, and organization.In this position, I primarily assisted the CEO and Director of Marketing in daily tasks. I created posts and managed the company's social media to reach engagement goals and to find new target audiences for our products. I maintained organization within the office in order to allow for speedier and more efficient completion of tasks. I also assisted with sales and customer service; reviewed and packaged orders, answered customer questions and calls, and ensured the timely delivery of perishable food items. Finally, I directed social media promotions of our goods and special events that took place during my time in the Assistant to the CEO position.

Our world needs more peace, and those that are aware of the destruction caused by separation of groups needs to act to save peace. They need to stand up and be leaders to their communities, and voices of change.In this role, I assist the Program Director and Assistant Program Director in planning andimplementing effective, safe, and engaging programs for interfaith middle and highschool participants during the school year (September – May) and summer break (July-August) that meet Kids4Peace Boston’s goals. Through this, I have led discussions and activities that focus on current issues in our world, such as climate change, religious peace, etc.I help organize, prepare for and attends additional K4PB programs such as overnights,community service projects, or outreach events as needed. These programs surround current religious issues as well, but focus on global impacts; ones that involve us as leaders and activists.

At this age, I attended a leadership camp at Manchester Ropes Challenge Course that changed my identity-I can consider myself a leader. This unique opportunity gave me a chance to learn while immersing myself in another culture. As an American in China, things are not easy. Each challenging task was met with curiosity, and I found myself ready to tackle challenges. I created activities that students from differing cultures would understand. These programs were of tailored presentation style to meet language barrier, while maintaining the safety of all participants.After programs, I still monitored the children. I made sure that each participant was ready to complete each day with enthusiasm and energy. If need be, I changed planned activities to fit the advancement of the group and identified and responded to inappropriate behaviors.
