Sundowner Winds Experiment (SWEX) Research Lab investigates high amplitude mountain waves, critical layers, and surface wind intensity downslope of the Santa Ynez Mountains and the city of Santa Barbara.Job duties include:- Assisting with experiments to improve the current understanding of downslope windstorms (Sundowners) in coastal Santa Barbara County- Collecting data to model intensity and spatial variation of Sundowners- Preparing radiosonde weather tracking devices for launch - Filling weather balloons with helium gas- Recording temperature, relative humidity, and other atmospheric measurements- Analyzing research papers on Sundowners Wind Events
