My Job as a Design Engineer at Gregory Design & Mfg is to design Shipping Racks and Internal "WIP" Racks for the Automotive Industry. I accomplish this by the use of Autodesk Inventor CAD Software. Designs begin from Solid Models or physical Parts and Assemblies provided by the Customer. These are used to Design a Rack with Part protective Dunnage to meet the Customers needs, whether they are shipping or using the Racks internally. I develop Drawings for the Designs and provide a complete Bill of Materials both on the Drawing and on Excel Spreadsheets. This enables the Customer to provide Vendors a very dependable way to project material cost and labor for Quoting. I also create Shop Drawings for the Production of Designed Racks. In addition to New Designed Racks, I also Design Refurbished Racks to utilize existing outdated Racks to help Customers save money on Materials. All internal parts, such as foam, rubber, plastic and Laser~Cut Dunnage are Designed by me to Custom Fit around the Part for protection and separation.

I Designed shipping racks for the Automotive Industry. I used 3D CAD files of Automotive Parts to Design mechanical steel racks and protective dunnage for shipping and internal racks. I used AutoDesk Inventor 2016 to Design these mechanically operated racks. In addition to 3D Rack Design, I produced 2D Drawings for Automotive Companies and Shop Drawings for our Machine Shop and Vendors to produce Parts on CNC and Manual Equipment. I produced Excel Spreadsheets of Bills of Material for procurement and Quoting. I Designed all special fasteners, protective dunnage and mechanically operated mechanisms necessary. I worked closely with our Machine Shop and Vendors on the best ways to produce items using, CNC Laser Cutting, CNC Waterjetting, CNC High Def Plasma and CNC Lathes and Milling Machines. I assisted in Quoting Labor and Production, led online meetings with Customers, managed records of all Designs and Drawings and performed Revisions of 3D Models and 2D Drawings to keep everything current.
