The Third Engineer is in charge of executing preventative / corrective maintenance tasks and ongoing maintenance repairs to equipment pertaining to power plant, dynamic positioning system, living quarters and performs watch standing duties. These tasks include executing preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs of hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical components of:Power Plant and related Auxiliary Systems.Dynamically Positioning Equipment and Auxiliary Systems.HVAC systems.Remote Operated Valve Systems.Ballast and Bilge Systems.Compressed Air Systems and equipment including both Service Air and Starting Air.Lifeboats and Fast Rescue Craft.Living Quarters and related Support Systems.Emergency Shutdown Systems, Safety Systems and Zero Discharge equipment.Under all circumstances maintain a minimum amount of spares on board together with direct support for critical, safety, maintenance and operational systems.Responsible for completing preventative maintenance and to document all maintenance completed.

Responsible for the daily operation and routine maintenance of the M/V Salacia's four CAT 3516 main engines, 2 CAT Gensets, and waste management as well as electrical, and diesel troubleshooting.

Performed troubleshooting and repairs for engines, electronic and wiring systems, suspension and steering components. Completed engine and transmission swaps, exhaust and hot work, brake services, some fabrication and changing and balancing tires.

Worked in truck shop, assisting technicians, trouble shooting with “Electronic Technician” and repairing engines. Mostly C7 to C15 engines, repairing emission controls, cams, pistons, injectors, and various other engine components. Also worked in generator and air compressor shop, assisting technicians, trouble shooting and repairing gensets, sullair compressors and new engine prep.
