Fundamentally, real estate influences the way that people live their lives. I’ve always been intrigued by that premise and I thought that if I could positively impact others’ lives by improving the built environment, that’s what I wanted to do. I followed this passion out to South Carolina where I earned my master’s degree from Clemson University in Real Estate Development. After completing my degree, I worked in commercial real estate lending for Wells Fargo and Zions Bank, where I originated a wide variety of real estate loans primarily in the middle-market segment: between $5-25M. Working on so many of these loans helped me to grow my expertise in commercial real estate finance and more generally, simply what it takes to get deals done.After over a decade of working in commercial real estate lending, I joined the team at Alturas as the Director of Acquisitions and Asset Management. I’m thankful that my current role is challenging, and gives me the opportunity to do what I love: finding ways to improve our properties so our tenants can thrive and be successful. I also highly value responsibility and strive to do what I say I’m going to do. In just over three years with Alturas, I’ve been part of growing our real estate portfolio from $30M to over $150M. I attribute our growth to our partnership approach where we are centrally focused on valuing, and adding value to, our relationships with our tenants, brokers and investors. Living in the foothills of Boise, Idaho allows me to regularly enjoy the outdoors with my wife, Sarah, and our three kids: Eva, Sophie and Tommy. We love backpacking, hiking, mountain biking, and downhill skiing. I also love sports and play on local soccer and basketball teams. As part of my love for sports, I am loyal to my teams: Arsenal F.C., BYU, Clemson, the Chicago Cubs and the Utah Jazz.
