Louisville, Kentucky Area

I applied for and received a USDA grant to build out a wireless internet service network (WISP) between Henry, LaGrange and Trimble Counties. In order to provide basic internet services to local farms and small communities which are underserved by the Bell system and non-existant cable operators. Our grant allowed for us to lease space on local buildings and towers and by partnering with the local municipalities for access to the water towers FarmNet now provides VOIP and Internet services to the community. As of 2011 FarmNet is now a CommonWealth of Kentucky registered Cooperative Business Enterprise owned and operated by the communities it serves.

I serve as the Chief Information Officer for Resilient House LSU in Louisiana. For the past year I have been working directly with RH-LSU to create a world class information system for addiction care. Technology is no stranger to the medical community but within the confines of addiction care it's a new and emerging tool. In my time with RH-LSU I have integrated cloud based CRM, EMR and TeleMedicine systems in a space traditionally paper driven for JCAHO & HIPPA compliance. Building a technology partnership with LSU Information Services across the State of Louisiana to leverage the Presidents vision for Addiction Care training for resident physicians and 3rd year students of the LSU School of Medicine has been no small task but a fantastic experience which continues daily.

I always wanted to work at Apple, so instead of going north in 1993 from the Central Coast to intern for the then failing fruit company, I came to Detroit, Michigan with the Redmond giant instead. I befriended several Apple folks at our local facilities while bringing clients in for repairs or to review products. After repeated prodding I joined Apple Inc. in 2008 and worked with the visuals team and supported the stores front and back of house networks amongst other tasks. Great group of people and was glad to spend time at with Apple. #dream-fulfilled
