The entirety of the research went to the project of "NEWIR Manure" which stands for Nutrients, Energy, and Water Innovations for Resource Recovery. This was a National Science Foundation (NSF) sponsored project.This role included but was not limited to, extensive research on the environmental impacts and sustainability of cattle manure management, presenting alternative methods of manure management to reduce carbon and water footprint, modeling and analyzing data with the Life Cycle Assessment Tool (LCA), SimaPro and focusing on gathering data for an anaerobic digestors to meet proposal design.
