During my time as an Environmental Scientist with APTIM as well as the CES JV I have become proficient at acting as field team lead, operating hydrologic monitoring equipment, collecting soil and soil porewater samples, performing wetland vegetation surveys, taking RSET measurements, as well as collecting and measuring Cryo-core accretion samples. In addition to data collection I am highly experienced in operating boats including outboard, air-cooled surface drive, long tail mud-boats, and airboats. In addition to the fieldwork I am responsible for processing the data as well as performing data QA/QC. Additionally, I gained valuable experience with office management (overseeing day-to-day operations, hiring, on-boarding, productivity forecasting, productivity reporting, time entry review / approvals, etc.) and field scheduling during my stent as a field office lead. I also serve as my field office hydrologic monitoring equipment manager (maintenance, calibration, tracking, etc.) and project area hydrologic data manager.While on the NRDA MC-252/Deepwater Oil Spill project I acted as a state rep observing for evidence of oil impact as well as performing vegetation surveys and collecting various soil samples and vegetation clippings for analysis.While on the Waste Segregation Audit project I acted as a team lead while auditing recyclable and non-recyclable waste to ensure compliance with regards to hazardous waste disposal. Daily responsibilities included performing daily safety talks, driving long distances to various sites within California, performing the audit, documenting and properly disposing of any hazardous materials found, and end of the day reporting of findings to client site and regional managers.
