I am an experienced lab professional who is looking for a position in or around Boston. I have recently started working with an LGBT associated non-profit group based out of the city and would love to relocate to the region.I have three years experience at Umass Memorial Hospital in their clinical Microbiology lab handling human specimen and running a variety of diagnostic tests. Much of this testing included microbial identification via gram stain, processing of fecal specimen for parasitic identification and processing of stat tests for patient diagnostics. I also performed manual and automated DNA probe assays regularly. During my time at Genzyme I trained mostly on sample collection, including Environmental Monitoring, Water Collection, and Gas Testing. I have been involved with a number of projects such as the 74 NYA CO2 performance qualification and both the environmental qualification and performance qualification of Global Cell Bank's clean rooms and gas lines respectively. My formal education includes a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in biology and minor in chemistry from Fitchburg State University. While attaining my degree I worked primarily at Davis Farmland where I performed daily care and maintenance for a variety of animals including ruminants, avian, various small mammals (including rodents) and reptiles.If anyone wishes to contact me text forms of communication work best as I am usually without access to a phone at work and work beyond the scope of normal business hours frequently.
