In a full-time capacity, continuing to advance network automation efforts through collaboration with Sparrow IT's networking team, including brainstorming big ideas, defining achievable requirements, and remaining an integral part of the implementation process. This includes development of said solutions by leveraging skills in C#, JavaScript, and the .Net Framework at large.Furthermore, advancing more general development and systems engineering goals, helping to architect solutions that automate messaging and paging operations, as well as implement those solutions and clearly communicate associated processes to customers without an IT background. Lastly, solving problems in a collaborative and high stress environment through participation in an integrated on-call process that demands quick and decisive thinking, along with an insatiable hunger to learn.

By leveraging programming background and Cisco networking experience, facilitating effective communication and helping optimize engineering efficiency between Sparrow's networking and software development teams. Through this collaboration, implementing automation solutions to streamline multiple network and voice management processes critical to Sparrow's infrastructure and operations. Involves both defining requirements and communicating them to developers. Application of development skills in a practical fashion is prevalent here.Additionally, working with the Custom Development team on non-Networking related goals. Includes receiving and analyzing caregiver/patient system requests, ensuring system compliance, defining requirements, and providing developers with workable processes to fulfill those requirements. Some application of development skills here as well.

As a Resident Assistant at the University of Dayton, Devin plays an important role in the development and adaptation to a new chapter in life that his residents undergo. Through monthly discussions about important topics, one-on-one conversations with those residents he oversees, and various other services he provides, Devin works hard to ensure the best, safest, and fairest experience he can for each and every one of his residents as they transition to an unfamiliar environment.

Completed an internship at Sparrow Health System in the summer of 2019. This internship focused mostly on the completion of an intern project. Within that project, the following skills and experiences were gained.Key Accomplishments/Experiences: 1. VoIP: o Use of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Call Manager) to configure individual VoIP phones and deploy those devices. o Installation and configuration of a 2FXS/4FXO voice module to enable out of network calling from a remote LAN within the Sparrow WAN. o Execution of a testing and acceptance plan to ensure full functionality of VoIP phones on site. o Experience with Cisco Jabber, Skype.2. Networking: o Design and implementation of new network infrastructure at remote LAN. - Includes design and implementation of wireless infrastructure on site. o Configuration, testing, and implementation of new routing technology (Cisco ISR 4331) at remote LAN. o Configuration, testing, and implementation of new switching technology (Cisco Catalyst 9300) at remote LAN. o Integration of remote LAN into Sparrow WAN through device configuration of Dynamic Multipoint VPN. o Configuration of Cisco 8540 Wireless LAN Controller to properly install new Cisco 3802i Access Points. 3. Skills: o Routing - BGP, OSPF, DMVPN, Interface configuration, VLANs, etc. o Switching - VLANs, Port Security, interface configuration, AAA, etc. o Wireless - Cisco WLC GUI, AP Groups, FlexConnect, RF Profiles, Thresholds, etc. o Documentation - Logical Network Design, Wireless Design, Network and Wireless testing methods and software.
