2017 was my first year with SAS, my effort to redefine (professionally) who I was had been rewarded. SAS Education was looking for someone green for a Sr Associate Admin position. With a very "what's the worst that could happen" approach, I threw my hat in thinking at the very least I could gain experience interviewing with a large employer. Fast forward to the present and my attitude and effort continue to reward, promoted to full Systems admin in < 5 years then to IT Manager a few months later. I thrive in connecting the dots and keeping all the balls in the air. I work to lead the team by example and help them to see the bigger picture and how what we do in support can have positive or negative impacts downstream. I love working with other teams and cross-divisionally to facilitate solutions that work for all parties internal and external. People management is something that has been a part of who I am for some time, calling on over 12 years of experience from my previous career. As I see it, great leaders foster an environment for their team to work in a way that plays to their strengths individually and collectively. Passion is a key driver of results and it begins with leadership. Though I have achieved some of my goals there is still much to do. Currently refocusing on professional training so that I can continue on my forward and hopefully upward movement in IT and with SAS. This is no time to stop, I want to do more!
