Aligning Science Across Parkinson's (ASAP) is a collaborative effort, involving 35 teams across 11 countries, that is focused on furthering our knowledge of Parkinson's disease development and progression. Each of the 35 teams are made up of a multidisciplinary group of scientists. The Rio team, primarily located at UC Berkeley, consists of five lab groups: three from UC Berkeley, one from UCSF, and one from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. As the project manager for the Rio team, I am aware of the team's goals, results, and future plans. I act as the main point of contact with ASAP and facilitate communication within the Rio team and across other ASAP teams. Furthermore, I create progress reports, manage the team's budget, and ensure that the team is prepared for all deadlines.
