Diplomatic and Engaged Leadership. Hello! My name is Devin Amar Vizzie, and I am a freshman attending the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University-Bloomington. I am currently pursuing a Finance and Entrepreneurship Double-Major within Kelley and a Minor in Leadership through the Political and Civic Engagement (PACE) program. On campus I am actively involved as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for Diversity & Inclusion, a Founder’s Scholar, a member of the Dean’s List, a Hudson and Holland & Dean’s Scholarship recipient, as well as a part-time job as the Foster Center Desk Assistant. I am also involved in many clubs and organizations ranging from Kelley Student Government to the Kelley Prep Academy to the Real Estate Club and the AAC (The Asian American Cultural Center).My past experiences have worked toward establishing my future goal of wanting to combine the spheres of business and social good. Growing up in Los Angeles, I have always desired to make an impact as a leader. My past experiences working in retail and marketing for GOLF, Grammy-winning musical artist Tyler the Creator’s apparel brand as well as a Tennis Instructor and most recently as a Center Desk Assistant have inspired me to make an impact on my community both personally and professionally. Additionally, contributing to my community in high school from Varsity Tennis to Varsity Debate and numerous community outreach programs from FairFight Voter Registration initiatives to “Wash the Hate” campaigns against Asian-American violence have taught me the importance of giving back. I am strongly grounded by my moral compass, ethical principles, and fostering an inclusive and empowering learning environment. I thrive in situations where diversity of thought and experiences are welcomed. My personal values, skills, and interests around engagement, teamwork, and adventure can complement organizations who are looking for individuals that align to a shared vision and focus on total stakeholder return. My short-term goals are to gain valuable and differentiating experiences within the IU community and attain industry internships and work opportunities that will diversify and expand my exposure to new individuals, groups, and disciplines. My long-term goals after college are to be a contributing part of an organization that values, develops, and retains their employees while also being equitable, profitable, and sustainable. I strive to develop both personally and professionally so that one day my contributions in business will make a positive impact on my community and the world.
