As a Best Buy Mobile Sales Consultant, I was responsible for engaging the customer and selling a broad range of mobile products and services. I provided personalized service handling all aspects of the sale including customer contracts and warranties, customer payments, and cash and credit card/check transactions. By working closely with various wireless representatives, as well as my team, I developed in-depth knowledge of the latest mobile technology and as a result, was able to communicate that knowledge of wireless products, accessories, pricing plans, and service features to customers. I was able to draw out charts for customers in order to determine which cellular plan was best for them ensuring I met all their needs. I also learned the features and benefits of various products and services in other departments in an effort to better direct customers so their questions may be answered and/or solutions provided. I developed strong relationships and brought people a little closer to family and friends by helping them close the gaps with technology. While hired as a sales consultant, I later earned the title of Mobile Apple Expert.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

In this summer position, I was solely responsible for the audit of all hardware and software assets throughout the company. This is a large project performed annually that is used to ensure compliance with all licensing requirements, as well as assess and retire hardware that has reached its end of life. Additionally, I developed employee documentation relating to Apple devices in a Windows-based environment. I have always been a strong supporter of Apple products and this experience has been useful in helping me understand the integration of Apple devices in a Windows environment. I also assisted fielding help desk calls; this taught me many things about Windows.

I was part of a team that customers met when entering the store. I helped create energy and excitement around Apple products. I was responsible for discovering customers’ needs, whether it be a college student in need of a computer for graphic design purposes or an elderly couple with a desire to travel and watch movies on the go, and matching those needs with the right products. My goal was complete customer satisfaction from consult to sale and set-up of new products. I would also help maintain visual merchandising throughout the store. I also enjoyed staying on top of news about new products and initiatives. Apple is an amazing company that taught me to use my resources to learn all I could about particular products as well as how to present and demonstrate these products to customers. I still use these skills on the job as well as in my personal life.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

In this position, responsibilities include: responding to questions from guests & resolving complaints as needed; training new employees in the games department; making sure games employees are on task as expected; scheduling responsibilities based on experience level; filling in at various games positions when needed; troubleshooting equipment maintenance; weekly inventory of all hard goods in arcade; the overall appearance & cleanliness of arcade area; and in general, ensuring the overall guest experience at Main Event is pleasurable. Throughout my experience in this position, I have earned trust from management to serve as key holder for master set of floor keys to all equipment; earned senior capability on employee account in order to give refunds, add money to game cards, verify guest account history and determine if wins were legitimate; and earned unlimited game swipes on employee card, as opposed to traditional 10-15 swipes other employees have to ensure ability to facilitate guest grievance resolutions throughout the day.
