About Devin Weeks
If there are two key skills I have relied on during my career, they are hard work and relationship building. Learning from a young age how to work hard has helped me whenever I have been called upon to learn a new skill, grind out a task, or find a solution to a problem. Additionally, nurturing relationships has enabled me to work at many different companies, meet some amazing people, and gain a wide variety of experiences from Saas to truck driving. These two key skills have continually led me to the field of marketing. I love marketing because it combines both quantitative and qualitative skills to gain a deep understanding of your customers and how to best speak to them. In all the stops on my career path, I have consistently analyzed data to generate strategy-informing insights and help form marketing plans. I have a wide range of experience in different types of marketing in all phases of the customer journey and am continually learning more about this every changing industry. When I'm not working, you can find me continually challenging myself at the nearest ski hill, finding creative ways to tell a story while making short videos with my friends, or spending time with my family.

This internship was another one of a lot of variety, from cooking 2000 hotdogs to wearing a giant mammoth mascot suit. Most of my time was spent working with the city's recreation website and Instagram pages, improving the user interface and creating story content respectively. I also conducted an analysis of economic development data by looking at local traffic hot spots to identify shopping hubs. Some highlights included:- Conducting statistical analysis of economic development data for presentation to the City Council- Developing a new brand identity and persona for the Orem Recreation Instagram account- Improving the UX of the Orem Recreation website to accommodate for mobile and desktop use

My first real leadership role. I oversaw a team of 5 interns and was given freedom to create a marketing plan with the goal of increasing attendance and season ticket sales of men's volleyball games. I put into practice a lot of what I was learning in school, do qantitative and qualiltative research and form insights to base the marketing plan on. This plan led to a increase in attendance and overall fan experience and net promoter score. Some highlights included:- Creating and executing a strategic marketing plan to increase attendance at men's volleyball games including the 2nd highest attended game in the last 5 years and an overall increase of 25%- Overseeing a graphic design team that generated artwork for several print designs for 2000+ attendees of games- Collaborating with corporate sponsors to execute promotions during football games
Marketing Intern
BYU is where I got a lot of experince in working as a team player (and no that's not a pun about working in the athletic department....or was it?) While in this role I got to learn a lot about event management, marketing with a tight budget, and how to create memorable experinces. This role also provided me a chance to put my head down and work hard at a lot of the events we managed, later leading to a promotion at this same organization. Some highlights included:- Planning execution of in-game promotions for Women's Soccer, Women's Basketball, and Baseball games- Producing game schedules for and oversaw team of fellow interns for 40+ sporting events- Breaking the Women's Basketball home attendance record with 6289 attendees

While my internship at Novarad was limited compared to some of my other internships, it provided me with some of the best real world marketing experience I could ask for. I got further experience in e-mail marketing in addition to persona creation, event management, CRM management, and competitive intelligence. Some highlights included:- Researched and developed 15 buyer personas using qualitative and quantitative data- Created competitive intelligence reports for sales team usage- Simplified workflows in HubSpot to optimize the lead generation process
Marketing Intern
After my experience on the Partner Development team, I switched to the Marketing team at BrainStorm and continued to try and add value wherever I could. I got further exposure to CRM management (specifically HubSpot & Microsoft Dynamics), e-mail marketing, branding, social media, and webpage building all in a B2B setting. I also had one of my many failure in my career where I attempted to build an ROI calculator and eventually had to give up after a month of work due to how difficult it was to calculate. This early failure taught me the importance of clear communication, and the valuable information that company's employees often have. Some highlights included:- Organized new company-wide marketing asset repository website of over 6000 assets- Performed strategic analysis of LinkedIn posts to optimize performance and drive web traffic- Built social media strategy for launch on new platform
Partner Development Intern
My first internship experience had me working on the Partner Development team with people with a lot of experience. They gave me a lot of freedom to pursue any value-add projects where I could use my skills to shine. I used this to my advantage and created several different e-mail campaigns that our clients could white-label and use for their own customer base, an advanced Excel macro that could create new workbooks for clients to gain monthly insights and access detailed billing information, and a standard procedure for team meetings and note taking. Some highlights included:- Managed billing and invoicing for over 90 strategic partners with over $105,000 in monthly revenue- Designed and launched six e-mail marketing campaigns to increase client base by 20%- Served on the Leadership and Development committee for interns and led leadership trainings

Shortly before joining the Marketing program at the Marriott School, I had the opportunity to join a small teeth whitening company as a marketing intern. I got my first experiences in the world of social media marketing including influencers and the meta business suite. I also got to help create a new brand persona by standardizing fonts, colors, and messaging. Some highlights included:- Ideated and developed a crowdfunding campaign to gain funding for expansion of the business- Created static and motion advertisements for Instagram and other social media platforms- Wrote 5 blog posts for publishing on the companies home page

During my first year of college I spent my summer as a Delivery Driver for a local lumber company. Most of my time here was spent driving to residential and commercial job sites, ensuring all the materials are in quality condition, and delivering everything in the most convenient spot for the customers. Though this job didn't give me much experience in world of marketing, I did get to work with some great people and experience how a company's culture can elevate the whole workplace. Some highlights included:- Delivering units of lumber and decking to clients across Utah and Salt Lake counties- Coordinating with customers to ensure satisfaction and easy access to the building materials- Recording inventory for over 100 types and sizes of lumber and decking
Volunteer English Teacher
Shortly after graduating from high school I spent 2 years in Japan as a volunteer representative for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. During my time in Japan I spent 2-3 nights a week as a volunteer English teacher with students of all sorts of ages and experience levels. I also got experience to data collection and basic analysis.
