ArtistYear’s mission is to address the nation’s arts education gap by ensuring that every underserved student has arts education through a National Service Arts Corps. ArtistYear AmeriCorps Fellows are placed as full-time teaching artists at low-income schools to bolster arts education for our country’s most vulnerable youth, while improving student academic and socio-emotional development, enhancing school climate and capacity, benefiting the larger community, and developing a new generation of Citizen-Artists committed to national service.

The Drexel Writing Center's mission is to help all members of the Drexel community develop as writers. We provide individualized support for writers working on any kind of writing — assignments, personal statements, articles for publication, personal projects, etc. We welcome writers at any stage in the writing process — from brainstorming to final revision. Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that all writers benefit from talking about their work. These conversations about writing are often collaborative in nature and spur critical thinking. Writing center consultants are highly trained professionals who will provide you with a close and critical reading of your writing and give you honest feedback based on their observations and your goals for project. I worked under the Director of Marketing at Girard College, writing articles and taking photos for their annual donor report and alumni magazine. I also managed their social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter) throughout my time there, wrote press releases for exciting events happening on campus, and worked on email campaigns for Giving Tuesday.
