Tasks at Leidos:•Oversaw a groundwater protection system (GPS): a system of over 200 pumps connected with stainless steal and HDPE piping surrounding the Chevron Richmond refinery, the purpose of which was to divert polluted groundwater away from the surrounding bay, by intercepting it and transporting is to an onsite treatment plant. •Monitored the GPS pump data collected from radio transmitting units (RTU) that the sumps were attached to. •Using an online database, interpreted the GPS pump data through graphs and spreadsheets in order to determine if the pumps were functioning properly.•When necessary, fixed and repaired RTU’s with the help of an offsite electrical engineer.•Managed a small team of sub-contractors with a list of daily action items.•Ran pilot tests with new equipment from possible future vendors.•Monitored the pilot testing of HERON electronic transducers as a possible replacement for older, air powered, transducers. •Trouble shot any and all problems that developed with the GPS.•Used field collected data to create a pipe thickness analysis of the GPS system in order to determine which areas most urgently needed replacement.
