About Devinder Chattha

I have 10 years of experience teaching English as a Second language, 10 years of experience teaching Test Preparation Courses and 15 years of experience managing Language, Settlement and Social programs at Progressive Intercultural Community services. I have also facilitated Douglas College's English Language program for the Workplace in capacity of a part time Instructor and managed Simon Fraser University's English for the Workplace Program funded by Ministry of Advanced Education for professionals from other countries. During my tenure as Director of Language, Settlement & Social Programs at PICS, I managed over 60 staff and 15 programs funded by federal, provincial and local governments. I am efficient in writing successful proposals in acquiring funding from different Ministries of Federal and Provincial Governments and from local bodies. I have lot of experience in envisioning Strategic planing, succession planning, Cultural Competency and Diversity Plan. I have over 15 years of experience in managing program budgets of over 2 million at any one time. Through my efforts of acquiring funding to set up organizational programs, I launched Child Care Centre in Cloverdale for 25 spaces and was successful in getting half million dollars to open another Child Care facility for 75 children.
